Teachers Give a Toot at the Holiday Concert

Teacher helped liven the holiday spirit
at the night concert for parents and the daytime assembly
for
students. Carrying their kazoos and learning their assigned
parts and choreographed movements, the teachers were a hit.

Performs for NFP Students

NFP
students were treated to a real reward... a performance
by the NFP Choral Ensemble. There were many individual
and group songs performed.
The entire
auditiorium joined in while the chorus sang The

Videoconference with Museum of Natural Sciences
January 25, 2011
Third graders went on a virtual field trip to the
Museum of Natural Sciences. During their Science special,
students experienced distance learning by videoconferencing
with the museum and learning about plants. In this segment
students
learn
about
how trees
differ from plants.

Thank you
to all Science Expo Presenters.The
2011 Science Expo would not have been a success without you!
In addition to students displaying their science projects,
students also learned about applications of science in the
real world from professionals in the field.
Mr.
Heidinger demonstrated to students how chemicals form
reactions when they are combined. Here students saw how
the chemicals would continually change color.

April 2011 Thank you
Students, Parents and Teachers. The 2011 Talent
Show was a huge success!! Students showcased their many skills
at NFP's 2nd Annual Talent Show. Many talented students showed
off their singing, dancing, playing piano and even martial
arts skills. The Teacher Assistants started the show by singing

Saturday Academy
March 2010 Thanks

began for the 2010-2011 school year on March
13, 2010. The
co-directors of the Saturday Academy talk about its format and the success
that has been witnessed.

Animal
Blabber Projects
January 2010 Mrs. Coltrane's students
researched animals during science and media classes. They wrote
a script
to introduce
5 animal facts and found a picture to use with their script.
Students used an external microphone and the Blabberize
website to create their projects. Students presented their
works
of
art to parents on January 29, 2010.

Falcon Chorale Ensemble Brings Holiday Cheer to NFP

Mural
November 2009
On November 17 & 18, the NFP Family anxiously awaited
completion of a new mural. Painted by Ms. Buchanan, the mural
depicts what we want for all falcon students: graduation
from high school. The mural will serve as a reminder to all
of this important goal. Great Job Ms. Buchanan!

Staff Attend Marzano Training
October 21, 2009 North
Forest Pines used Wednesday's Early Release Day to send a team
of educators to Lake Myra Elementary School. Teachers from four
elementary schools attended a whole day workshop on Robert Marzano's
research on learning and instruction. To hear more about the

Educational Summit on Student Achievement
September 2009 Five Wakefield-area schools (including North
Forest Pines Elementary)
started a Regional Saturday Academy which
provided free tutoring
services during the third quarter of the 2009 - 2010 and
2010 - 2011 school
years
to
approximately
70
students
from
the
five
schools.
Thanks to the
community's support of these efforts, the program began on March 13,
