Students
Dance at the Sock Hop
March 2013
The PBIS Committee hosted a Sock Hop for students.
Students earn tickets throughout the year by making good choices
(showing kindness, acting responsibly, following the rules,
etc.) Those tickets can be used at the school store and for
events such as a popcorn & a movie event or the sock hop.

Poodle skirts, ankle socks, and saddle shoes could be seen
everywhere.

Even NFP's youngest Falcons dressed up for the Sock Hop.

Boys came styling with their jeans, white t-shirts and jackets.

These 5th graders wore scarves, hair bows, and smiles.

Judges declared these four students to be the winners for Best Dressed.
Favorite
Book Day
February 4 & 8, 2013
For Favorite Book Day, students wore their pajamas and brought
their favorite book to school. During a scheduled 30 minute
time slot, all students dropped everything, read a book and
enjoyed some hot chocolate.

These kindergarteners sat with a friend and read their books.

Whether lying down or under tables, students got comfortable
while they read their book.

Some students preferred to sit by others.

Others liked sitting alone while reading.

Pajamas, friends, favorite books, & hot chocolate make
us happy!

Children's
Storytime at Barnes & Noble
November 27, 2012
NFP staff went to the Triangle Mall and read stories during Children's Storytime.

Each guest reader selected a book to read.

The guest reader asked questions and had discussions
with the audience.

Some readers had student helpers.

The NFP Administration Team knows that reading
helps students academically.

These Falcons enjoyed their time at Barnes and Noble.

about their character.Parents were invited to the presentations.

Kindergarten
Celebrates Safety Day
October 3, 2012
Police, Fire, and Rescue Teams visited NFP.
Students visited different stations to learn about what each
team does. This was done so that kids are not afraid to talk
to these important people.

These students learned about the K-9 dog that the police use.

Some kindergarteners got to hop onto a Raleigh Police motorcycle.

This boy looks quite comfortable driving a police car.

Posing with the police horses was a special
treat for these kindergarteners.
